Next-Generation Healthcare Comes to Local Communities
Amid sweeping changes in today’s health care landscape, new hospitals in the Sutter Health network are rising across Northern California to meet the needs of our communities. These new centers of care are designed to provide patients and medical professionals with even smarter, greener, safer facilities while raising the bar on patient comfort, convenience and privacy.
"Building a new hospital from the ground up brings a completely different experience to a community and its people," says Mike Purvis, chief administrative officer of Sutter's brand-new Santa Rosa Regional Hospital, which opened two years ago. "From the life-saving health services we provide to the beautiful artwork from local Sonoma County artists we use throughout the hospital, a lot of grassroots enthusiasm and excitement surrounded this project from the start."
Change Comes to San Francisco
Sutter Health's CPMC is in the midst of constructing two more new hospitals set to open in San Francisco in 2019.
At the corner of Van Ness Boulevard and Geary Avenue, a new 11-story, 274-bed acute-care hospital will take over services now available at CPMC's California and Pacific campuses.
Concurrently, a new replacement hospital for the St. Luke's campus is being built in the Mission District at the corner of Cesar Chavez and Valencia streets. This seven-story, acute-care facility will provide 120 beds, and features an expanded emergency department, expanded obstetric services and several centers of excellence in clinical services.
