General Motors recently gave Fast Company a rare look inside its sprawling new design center. Designed by SmithGroup, the 360,000 square foot facility, dubbed Design West, is part of a $1 billion upgrade of the company's Detroit-area Technical Center campus, and it is transforming how the legendary automaker creates vehicles.
