David leads the firm’s Health studio in Dallas, guiding the planning and design of general and specialty hospitals, cancer centers, ambulatory surgery centers, and medical office buildings. The leadership role suits David’s macro-scale emphasis. “I like to ensure the big idea of any strategy is well thought-out before proceeding to the details,” he explains. “The big idea must be clear from the beginning to the end of any design process.” Maybe the same concept applies to composing music. “I enjoy creating,” says David. “I’m a musician. If I wasn’t working in architecture, I think I would be working in the film scoring industry.” He also has an adventurous streak. David scuba dives, mountain bikes, hunts and backpacks, and would like to learn how to hang-glide.
