"Not your grandfather's investment firm" is Baker Avenue's credo. Because the growing investment manager’s culture reflects a spirit of innovation, firm leaders wanted their new headquarters to set them apart from more traditional firms. The historic Bently Reserve, in the heart of San Francisco’s Financial District, provided a perfect and adaptable location for a young, inventive firm to grow, and for SmithGroupJJR to create a suitable office facility.
Breaking from tradition meant moving away from an environment cluttered with private workspaces, and embracing openness and transparency. Translucent office fronts and exterior views fill the space with daylight, and a variety of meeting spaces foster casual interactions, while accommodating privacy and confidentiality when needed. The build-out integrates amenities to serve the demands of today’s workforce, including an open café and a private wellness room.
The modern environment complements the building’s elegance and ultimately serves as a symbol of a marriage between old and new traditions, celebrating the unique culture and deep-rooted values of each.
